The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS)is located in the second largest metropolitan area in the state of Colorado with about 500,000 residents. UCCS is one of four campuses in the Univ. of Colorado system and emphasizes a broad range of programs in the liberal arts and sciences, business, engineering, nursing, education, and public affairs. We offer a vibrant cultural life and immediate access to numerous recreational opportunities including river rafting, hiking, golf, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, and hot air ballooning. Colorado Springs is home to more than 20 national and international sports organizations, including the headquarters of the U.S. Olympic Committee and Olympic Training Center, the world's finest multi-sport training facility. The UCCS campus sits on a prominent bluff above the city at an elevation of over 6000 feet enjoying majestic views of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak and over 300 days of sunshine per year.
UCCS is located 57 miles south of Denver, and 30 miles north of Pueblo. We are located less than 2 hours from the closest ski resort - Monarch Mountain, and a little over 2 hours from Breckenridge.
PLEASE BE AWARE: UCCS housing is very limited. We do not give preference to NSE students. Students applying for a full year housing contract are given first preference by the housing office. Single semester contracts are VERY difficult to obtain. Housing off campus in the area is limited. Many more options within driving distance.
