Enlightenment, Globalization, and Contemporary Scotland- 
Spring Break Excursion

Looking for an international experience for Spring Break?  Join Dr. Gilley as he explores Scotland and specifically the Scottish Enlightenment. Learn about its role in the overall process of Globalization.  Also explore how Scotland has sought to find its place in a new globalized world.  Visit multiple museums and cultural sites including Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish Parliament, several universities, Loch Ness and the National Museum of Transportation.

 

Space is extremely limited. Sign up now to assure that you can be included. Priority will give to those who sign up early.

Course Description
INTL 3001 Gateway to International Studies

In order to participate you must have previously taken or be currently enrolled in INTL 3001 for the spring semester. If you sign up for the field trip and later drop INTL 3001, you may have to pay withdrawal fees.

Eligibility & Withdrawal

In order to be eligible for the program, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old by the first day of the program
  • Not be on disciplinary or scholastic probation
  • Be enrolled in INTL 3001 or previously taken INTL  3001
Application Deadline
January 23, 2017

Although the application deadline is January 23, you are advised to register early in order to secure a spot in the program. The program will fill on a first come, first served basis from those who meet the eligibility requirements. 

Because payments will be made to hotels and airlines on your behalf starting at the end of November, there is a penalty if you withdraw from the program after January 30, 2017, even if you do not go on the program. The amount that you will owe is based on the date on which you withdraw. The schedule of payments is:

Withdrawal after January 30, 2017 $500 non-refundable deposit will be paid
Withdrawal after February 25, 2017 Entire program fee will be paid

If you plan to withdraw, please contact Marissa Baham (mbaham4@lsu.edu) with Academic Programs Abroad. Please note that if this request must be made in writing and that the date of withdrawal is based on when APA receives your email or written withdrawal.
