Universidad del Sagrado Corazon (USC), the oldest private educational institution in Puerto Rico, was established in 1880. USC is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Puerto Rico Council on Higher Education, Council on Social Work and the National League of Nursing and the International Association for Continuing Education and Training. USC incorporated undergraduate research experiences in most programs.
