Sichuan Agricultural University (SAU) is an educational institution of higher learning with a long history (founded in 1906). It has been selected by the Chinese government as one of the 100 top universities in the country to receive special funding under the National Project 211 program.
Beautified by green mountains and blue rivers, SAU is situated in the well known city of Ya'an, the hometown of Giant Panda and the cradle of Tea Culture of the world, named as one of China's top ten glamours cities. Connected by express highway, Ya'an is 148 km away from Chengdu (about 80 minutes' drive), the capital city of Sichuanprovince, and 130 km away from the Shuangliu international airport.
The main objective of the university is to train agriculturalists at different levels.

Housing & Meals
The university supplies apartments for foreign students.
RMB 40 per day/person (about $7) if the student stays in less than 2 months
RMB 30 per day/person (about $5) if the student stays more than 2 months
RMB 4,000 (about $645) for long-term students who stay for a year (excludes fees for gas and water)
Students can go to any of the various dining halls on the campus. Food costs RMB 300-500 ($50 - $80) per person per month.
